8/7/08 - Olympic National Park, Washington

We took the passenger ferry to Victoria, British Columbia, today. It was a 55 minute ride from Port Angeles. When we arrived we walked to the visitor center. We got information on the big local attraction Buchart Gardens and it was $37 per person to go in and there was a $15 round trip bus ride that would have taken an hour each way. We opted not to go. Both us have seen great gardens in other parts of Canada. Plus, Jim went to it about 20 years ago. Then we went to famous Empress Hotel to check the schedule for High Tea. Lorna did this one time when she was there. They had a spot for two people at 2 p.m. but, it was $60 per person for tea, crumpets, jams, fruit, etc. (Lorna, was the price that much when you did it or has it really gone up?) We opted not to go. We went in the Parliament Building and looked around. Saw the room where parliament holds sessions. They have a really pretty rotunda. Jim wanted to visit brewpubs so, we had a nice walk throughout the town which took us through China Town. We had to start heading back to the ferry dock so we took the long way and walked through Beacon Hill Park that has a nice garden and pond.
Note: Remember the game “Where’s Waldo”? The picture with all the people in it is a game for yall called “Where’s Carolyn”. See if you can find me.
