8/6/08 - Olympic National Park, Washington

We decided to see more of Olympic National Park today – we will go on the passenger ferry tomorrow morning to Victoria, British Columbia. We went to Port Angeles and bought our ferry tickets, then we drove along beautiful Lake Crescent, a glacier created lake that is over 600 feet deep. It looks a lot like the fjords in Norway. Then we went to the Sul Doc Hot Springs area and had a picnic lunch. Later we went to Rialto Beach on the Pacific Ocean. The weather was clear until we got near the beach, then it became cloudy and monochromatic. We went to the Quileute Indian village of La Push where we saw the strangely shaped James Islands. Then we drove back to our campsite at Heart O’ The Hills. On the way we went to the Elhwa area where we saw Lake Mills, a lake high in the mountains.
