7/2/08 - South Lake Tahoe, California

We left the RV park at Winnemucca and had to get gas. When we pulled into the station there were about 5 firetrucks filling up also. They were from Salt Lake City. I asked if they were going to California to help fight the wild fires. They told me that's where they had been and were returning home. We drove to Reno and visited a couple of brew pubs, and then stopped off in the old mining town of Virginia City, Nevada. We then proceeded to South Lake Tahoe, California and checked into the city RV park. It was very large and only had a few full hookup sites. We had no hookups but the weather was cool (50 at night) and the park was quiet. We decided to visit a micro-brewery. It was very late but, when we drove by Mt. Tallac Brewing Co. they were standing on the dock and invited us in. Jeff the brewer gave us a glass of great tasting Zelda's Porter. We chatted a while and then went back to the Casita and had dinner.
